Welcome to PsychUp Mental Health Foundation, a non-profit established in 2025 to confront the growing mental health crisis in the United States.

With rising rates of anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders especially among youth and underserved populations, our founders recognized the urgent need for accessible, community-based mental health care and advocacy.

PsychUp was founded to break down the stigma associated with mental health conditions, expand access to mental health resources, and empower individuals and communities with the tools necessary to achieve psychological resilience and long-term well-being.

Our founders, with backgrounds in clinical psychology, public health, and community organizing, have seen firsthand the toll untreated mental health conditions can take when care is inaccessible or stigmatized.

PsychUp addresses the following primary barriers to mental health access and well-being by delivering direct services, advocacy campaigns, and educational programs that address compassion, equity, and resilience.

Community Based Mental Health Services

A core part of PsychUp’s mission, this includes free counseling for underserved populations, mobile clinics in rural areas, and workshops offered through schools and community centers. Led by staff and volunteers with backgrounds in psychology, public health, and organizing, these services operate year-round in accessible locations, particularly in marginalized communities.

By reducing barriers to care and promoting mental health education, these efforts support the foundation’s goal of fostering resilience, equity, and well-being. Approximately 45% of PsychUp’s total organizational time and resources are allocated to this activity, including planning, outreach, direct service delivery, and follow-up care coordination.

Education and Advocacy

We conduct activities to promote mental health awareness and understanding. These include public seminars, webinars, and stigma-reduction campaigns that highlight stories of resilience and recovery. Led by staff and volunteers, these initiatives take place year-round in schools, community centers, and online platforms. By increasing mental health literacy and reducing stigma, these efforts support the mission to foster psychological resilience and strengthen community well-being. Approximately 10% of PsychUp’s total organizational time is allocated to Education and Advocacy activities.

Crisis Support and Suicide Prevention Services

The PsychUp Mental Health Foundation provides crisis support and suicide prevention services through a 24/7 helpline and targeted intervention programs. Staff and trained volunteers operate these services year-round, offering immediate support to individuals facing mental health emergencies. By responding quickly to crises and connecting individuals with appropriate care, these efforts play a vital role in preventing harm and saving lives.

Our mission is to improve community mental health outcomes and ensure timely access to life-saving support. Approximately 15% of the organization's total time and resources are dedicated to this activity. This includes staffing the helpline, providing training, managing follow-ups, and coordinating intervention partnerships.

Support Groups and Peer Networks

Support groups and peer networks are offered to help individuals and families manage mental health challenges. Led by trained facilitators and peer mentors, these groups meet regularly throughout the year in community spaces and online. They provide safe, supportive environments for sharing experiences and building coping skills. By fostering connection and resilience, this activity furthers the foundation’s mission to strengthen mental health and community well-being. Approximately 15% of PsychUp’s total organizational time is allocated to this activity, including facilitation, coordination, training, and participant support.

Training Programs

Training programs for educators, healthcare providers, and volunteers are offered year-round in schools, clinics, and community settings to enhance the capacity to respond to mental health challenges. These sessions equip participants with practical skills in mental health awareness, support, and intervention. By developing a more knowledgeable and prepared workforce, the programs expand the reach of services and advance the foundation’s mission to improve mental health outcomes and community resilience. Approximately 10% of the organization’s total time and resources are dedicated to training programs, including curriculum development, facilitation, outreach, and follow-up.

Research and Policy Advocacy

Research and policy advocacy efforts are carried out year-round to drive systemic improvements in mental health care. These activities involve collecting data, analyzing trends, and engaging with policymakers to promote evidence-based reforms. By influencing public policy and expanding access to effective care, this work supports the foundation’s mission to create lasting, society-wide improvements in mental health outcomes. Approximately 10% of the organization’s total time and resources are dedicated to research and policy advocacy, including data collection, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and participation in legislative efforts.
